KaDee Simensen – Studio Owner / Instructor:
KaDee has over 10 years of experience as a choreographer and instructor. She has traveled to San Francisco, CA as the choreographer of the West Coast Paul Mitchell Show for the SF Institute of Esthetics & Cosmetology. Other choreography experiences include; the Western Plains Opera (Merry Widow), the Minot Muskies (NJHL) Performance Team, the Minot Sky Rockets (CBA) Dance Team, the Culbertson, Montana Dancin’ Divas, Miss Rodeo North Dakota, the Minot High School Varsity Cheer Squad, and the Erik Ramstad Chorus Variety Show. KaDee currently co-coaches the Minot High School Majettes Varsity Dance Team. She was named “Universal Dance Association All-Star” in 1999, and her passion for dance and choreography is evident by her positive attitude and enthusiasm.
KaDee graduated from Minot State University in May of 2003 with a Bachelors Degree in Corporate Fitness / Minor in Coaching. She was an active member of the Minot State Club of Physical Educators (MSCOPE), and served as its President Elect in ’01/’02 and its President in ’02/’03. She was also recognized as the National Association of Sport and Physical Education (NASPE) Major of the Year in 2002.
JorDan started dancing at the age of 3 in Stanton, ND. At the age of 8, she moved to Minot and & joined the Just For Kix Dance Program. During her 7th and 8th grade years, JorDan was on the Minot MagiKix Middle School Dance Team. From 2004-2010, JorDan has been dancing at BrickStudio where she has been a part of the Patriotic Team, BrickStudio Competition Team, and Chaos Hip-Hop Team.
JorDan danced with the Minot High Varsity Dance Team her freshman through senior year in high school and was a team captain and choreographer her senior year. As a freshmen in college JorDan was on the Minot SkyRocket Dance team.
JorDan has been a co-coach for the MagiKix Dance team since 2008 and is currently the 6th grade dance coach for both Ramstad and Jim Hill middle schools.
JorDan has done choreography for the Ramstad Middle School Variety show and has taught dance at Relay for Life the past 4 years as “Dancers for Cancer.”
JorDan has worked at BrickStudio since June 2008 and now teaches preschool classes, and assists pre-k through senior class. She teaches some private lessons for adult social dance, hip hop and technique.
Charla J.D. McKimmy – Instructor:
It was my grandmother who put me in my first ballet class at the age of 5, at Susan Vaughn School of Dance. It was during my time in this studio I discovered what I was born to do, Dance. Growing up in Mrs. Vaughn’s studio, she gave me the opportunity to be an Apprentice Dance Instructor and Instructor for 20 years. I have choreographed for beginner, intermediate, and advanced level dance classes. I have offered individual choreography for competition and auditions. My training has been in Cecchetti method of Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap, Modern and Hip Hop.
My training began at Susan Vaughn’s School of Dance, Jackson, Michigan from 1983 until 2009. I attended Chicago’s National Dance Association in the student program 1989, 1990, 1991, 1993, 1994, 1995. During my training I also attended the Lansing Dance Conventions for Ballet and Jazz from 1992 through 1995. I belonged to the Aspirations Dance Company for the production of the Nutcracker in 1995. Jackson Community College productions of Bye Bye Birdie in 1995 and Grease in 1996. Worked with the Detroit Hip Hop Dance Crew from 1999 – 2000. Starr Dusters Dance Company-2009, personal choreography, competition and auditions in New York. Dance Masters of America Teachers Training School at the University of New York State, Buffalo from 2005 to 2011.
